An Evening Ramble Through Old Havana
Old Havana is a wonderful place to visit and explore. Here's a tour that we took with Charlie Thompson, Editor of Cuba Absolutely Magazine, one fine evening.
1. Start at the Café el Escorial at Mercaderes and Muralla in Plaza Vieja. Recently renovated with an eclectic and quirky touch, they roast their own espresso beans on site and serve a terrific mini-coconut tart. You can also buy their freshly roasted beans.
2. Walk along Mercaderes to the Meson de la Flota for some great tapas and live flamenco. Try to catch the Ecos Flamenco Company on Monday.
3. Continue along Mercaderes and turn left on Obispo. A flew blocks up, you'll find the Café Paris. Live music in the evenings and an interesting place to meet people
