Tocororo Cocktail
Prepared by barman Gianni Martínez of the Tocororo Restaurant in Havana, this combination of rum, sugar, lime, blue Curacao, and grenadine replicates the colors of Cuba’s national bird: the tocororo, known for its beautiful blue, red, and white feathers.
Ingredients:
45 ml of white rum
20 ml of lemon juice
5 ml of grenadine
5 ml of blue Curacao
3 tsp of sugar
ice to taste
Preparation:
Mix rum, sugar, lemon, and ice and frappe in a blender. Pour the Curacao in a previously chilled margarita glass and carefully spoon in the prepared frappe so that it does not blend with the liqueur. Top with grenadine and a red maraschino cherry.
