The art of jewellery is as old as humanity itself. Not only consistent with a woman's desire to have ornaments that show off her beauty, but also for religious purposes.
Jewellery has been perfected throughout the centuries until today talented jewellery makers use the most modern technology to create true masterpieces that are proudly worn and admired.
In this issue of Cubaplus we present some examples of jewellery made in Cuba by talented Cuban artists of the craft. These members of the FCB - Cuban Cultural Works Foundation – are Jorge Gil (Awarded at the International Crafts Fair, FIART 1993 and 2009), Yaniel Rodríguez (Awarded in 2003 at the 8th Applied Arts "Domingo Ravenet" Biennale), Nelson Bequer (Awarded Craft Master at FIART 2008) and Mayelin Guevara.
