Fashion
In this issue we present Cuba’s particular clothing, from the native - like the Guayabera - to casual, sporty and elegant clothes created with the talented hands of designer Aurelio Agramonte, aka Cankum, to whom work is the greatest of delights:
"Working and creating is what satisfies me most."
When he designs an outfit, Cankum is inspired above all by the interests of the person who will wear it, that is why he likes to walk along the streets, talking with people and getting to know people of all ages so he can learn their opinion on clothing in order to design clothes suitable for every segment of the population.
To better cope with our ardent summer, Cankum uses appropriate tropical fabrics like cotton, linen, chiffon, while emphasizing the colors: white, blue, green and red.
A former model who became a designer, Cankum has spent more than 30 years in the world of design, hence his recognized professionalism both in Cuba and abroad.
The caliber of his work is also supported by his many awards, among them that of Cuba’s 2004 Fashion Fair and the award for art direction and costumes for the "Con la Misma Loca" video clip by the popular Cuban salsa band La Charanga Habanera, received at the "Lucas" national clip contest in 2010.
Cankum is responsible for the image of that popular Cuban band as well as that of other famous artists, like singer Haila Mompié. In 2004 Cankum participated in a joint effort with renowned Cuban painter Arturo Montoto for the first Cuban edition of Art and Fashion Cuban.
